In 2018, Calgary was seriously lacking vegan options that could satisfy all palates. We wanted to change that—to create a menu so good that even the most stubborn omnivore would crave it. And that’s where our story begins.
With decades of restaurant experience between them, partners Laine and Darian knew that opening Calgary’s first full-service 100% vegan restaurant wouldn’t happen overnight. So, they hit the streets—literally—rolling out a food truck and serving up plant-based comfort food at festivals and pop-ups. Those early favorites? You’ll still find them on our menu today.
Fast forward a few years, and Vegan Street has become a non-negotiable for plant-based enthusiasts and meat-eaters alike. We’re here to challenge the idea of what vegan food can be—one drool-worthy dish at a time. Whether you're a lifelong vegan or just curious, we invite you to pull up a chair, grab a bite, and see why eating more plants has never tasted so good.

COMMUNITY IS EVERYTHING
In addition to supporting as many local small businesses as possible, we support non-profit organizations that have the biggest impact on our local community.
Our bottle money is donated monthly to The Alice Sanctuary, a local farmed animal sanctuary that is home to over 200 residents.
Every July 1st and September 30th, we donate a portion of sales to an indigenous organization, like USAY (Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth), that nurtures self-empowerment and fosters healthy collaboration and communication to ensure healthy future generations.
Together with our sister restaurant, The Attic, we raise money for Walls Down Collective, a grassroots group that works to create access to no-barrier resources and care.
We host annual fundraisers for The Alice Sanctuary like the Jann Arden concert, which raises much-needed funds for winter hay-bale stores, and contribute to The End of the Rainbow Foundation- an organization that creates sponsorship circles, hosts support groups, and provides education to help LGBTQ+ people settle in their homes and community.
