MADE WITH LOVE
From Vegan Street's Founders
It all started with a dream of making vegan food more widely accepted and mainstream for Calgarians from all walks of life. Darian and Laine opened a food truck in June of 2018, and quickly fell in love with changing peoples’ perceptions of what vegan food should taste like. They wanted to expand on their vision of offering delicious comfort food by pairing it with the experience of dining out and enjoying craft cocktails, local brews, and a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Nestled in a small historic building in the Beltline, Vegan Street Kitchen & Lounge was born. Serving nostalgic comfort food like no-fish & chips, truffle mushroom burgers, and buffalo chickin poutines, this restaurant serves fresh yet comforting fare that is sure to satisfy any non-vegan’s cravings.
In May 2021, they opened their second location in Inglewood, offering a fresher, more whole-foods approach to vegan comfort food. Must try items include no-fish tacos, fresh guacamole, and watermelon poké tostadas. Upstairs, you will find The Attic: a 1920’s themed cocktail bar and stage with live music, comedy nights, and Calgary’s longest-running Drag Show. With a forno pizza oven, The Attic will serve wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas, fresh pastas, and small bar snacks, as well as a host of old and new-world cocktails.
Whether you are celebrating a special occasion, enjoying good company, or just indulging in good food and drink, we look forward to meeting you and serving you at Vegan Street.
